15 Professional Vehicle Inspection Officers Graduate

Maintaining integrity was the key message by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) General Manager for Technical Operations, Faiyum Ali, at the graduation ceremony of the Professional Vehicle Inspectors.

Mr Ali was the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of the Professional Vehicle Inspectors at the Fiji National University last week in Suva.

15 new Professional Vehicle Inspectors graduated with a certificate, after the completion of the six weeks course at the Fiji National University.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr Ali relayed to the graduates, real life situations where their integrity could be put to the test.

“You must do your work as an honest Professional Vehicle Inspector with high integrity,” Mr Ali said.

 “This is a firm reminder to all of you graduating Professional Vehicle Inspectors, you must work within the ambit of the law and as per the guidelines and requirements of the Legislation, Codes of Practice, Policy and Procedures.”

Furthermore, Board Chairperson Mr Vijay Maharaj passed on his congratulatory message to the graduates.

“I wish to pass my heartfelt congratulations to these graduates, on the same note I wish to remind these graduates to always work hard and smart to achieve high levels of success in their careers,” Mr Maharaj said.

“Always remember to do the right thing as the lives of the vehicle owners and other road users will be in your hands when you make the decision to either pass or fail a vehicle. Professional Vehicle Inspectors must ensure that safety is paramount when making these decisions,” Mr Maharaj additionally stated.

The LTA recently signed contracts with eight automotive companies to be the Authorised Motor Vehicle Inspection Agencies therefore, the 15 graduates have good opportunities to explore their careers with them.

  • Dee Ace
