This is one of Road Safety initiative in encouraging a student above 16 and a half years early accusation of a learners permit. We believe that at this age and at this level of education they will learn and understand the road safety rules making them better drivers in years to come.
How is arrangements done?
- The department visit secondary schools in its usual school visit programs and promote the product. If schools wish to pursue they make a formal written request to the Authority.
- The authority will then send a CSO and a Driving Examiner to conduct Learners Permit (LP) for students on Driver Knowledge Test Systems (DKTS).
- Students will be trained prior to the LP test and given a crash course on basic road rules with the aim that it will help them answer the DKTS test.
- Students will then after paying the appropriate fees sit for the test individually.
